Congrats on your little one. As for potty training, Dutch is trained to do both. She goes outside and she also uses the potty pad. This works for me because I hate getting up in the middle of the night for potty breaks and I don't have to worry about her while I'm at work. Plus I hate cold weather, she on the other hand could care less. The main reason I decided to include potty pad training is because I live alone and I also work. I didn't want her to have to hold it until I got home from work but I also didn't want her to be confined in an expen all day. Fortunately it has worked out for me. I know some Yorkies will only do one or the other.

I started with outside training first. I didn't want her to be confused. Then gradually as the weather started getting cold, I trained her on the potty pads. I thought it would be too confusing for her but it's not.
