Jax stays far away from if, he's not stupid and usually is just swimming and whatnot. And even when my dad opens the gate he knows how to stay back. All 3 dogs stay far away and just chill over by the pool deck while he's mowing.

I'm embarrassingly in agreement with Brit. My dogs aren't terrified of the lawnmower, but they don't come anywhere near it so I haven't given it much thought.

This gives me chills, though, and reminds me of my childhood. I had a tortoise that was allowed to roam loose in my California backyard. Just as I was yelling at my Dad to "Watch out for the turtle," ... well, you get the picture. I blame no one for caution.
