Welcome to YT! I agree with what the others have said. It just takes time. We got our Anna from a shelter 2 years ago this May. She was much older than yours, estimated to be around 6 or 7 years. It took her a while to get used to being a "pet".

She warmed up to me pretty quickly and loved/loves sitting in my lap. But it took her a while to become playful. As a matter of fact, last night was the first time that she actually went and got a toy to play with. That sad look will eventually be replaced. Give her time.

You may want to try training Peaches to do tricks. This really helped Anna develop confidence. It will also help to get her to eat. My Barney won't hardly eat food in a dish, but if it's a reward, he's all over it.
