A puppy's adult weight is sometimes hard to predict. Some puppies do get overweight when nursing on their momma, especially if it is a very small litter and the mom has lots of milk. An overweight very young pup will slim down after they start walking and eating puppy food. I think the 12 weeks weight would probably be more accurate for guessing their adult weigh. By then the pups would have lost some of their baby fat. Some people say to triple the pups weight at 8 weeks or double it at 12 weeks to get an estimate of the puppy's adult weight. There is not sure way of knowing.
