This is a very common problem, that I also have to deal with. There are many "remedies" out there. None have really worked for us. I have been having some success lately with my 1 year old. I have started giving probiotics and a small amount of pumpkin each day which are supposed to help, but more importantly I have been using the "come" command with treats. I use a small treat, and every time I say "come" and she comes to me she gets a treat. She now comes to me every time, so when I see her pooping outside, as soon as she's done I say "come" and she will come to me to get the treat. That gives me time to go out and pick it up in case she goes back out to try and eat it.
