ZoE was in a playpen during the day until about 16 weeks old, then she got the run of the house. She was potty trained by about 12 weeks, but it took me a bit longer to trust her enough to let her have free reign. She slept in my bed since six 1/2 weeks old and never had an accident there. She potty trained very easily.
I'm a firm believer in having one designated potty spot, that is used consistently. And I praise and treat every time she goes there. Zoe is now four years old and still demands a treat every time I'm home and she potties on her pads. I have no issue treating for life for good potty habits, if it keeps my home clean!
