If you decide not to crate her you might want to do what I did for Annie she weighted 3 pounds at 4 months old (currently 3.5pounds/1.25 year old). The steps to buy were too expensive so I went to Home Depot and got a 1"X10" piece of wood about 6 feet long. Cut off about a foot to make a center brace and made her a ramp to get up on the bed. Also bought a piece of runner carpet I tacked onto it. Took her about an hour to figure it out. She loves it and runs up and down like a champ! Only cost me about $18 in materials! Just and additional thought for you.
