He does have one wierd thing, maybe one of you have encountered - I live in a townhome community so tons of four legged friends which he is thrilled to see around every corner, EXCEPT, one couple here has either an akita or husky, not sure, and from the first time he saw it, from a good distance, he goes absolutely bizirk! I didn't know he had that in him. Other big dogs are no problem, but this particular one has a scent that he can pick up on a block away, knows when it's just been in the area we are walking into etc. I'm told from a friend that use to train dogs in the military that he is picking up on a scent that tells him either I, or both of us, are in danger so he goes in full out protection mode. Has anyone else heard of them having this kind of reaction to a particular breed?
I would definitely keep him away from this dog. I think dogs have a sense for danger. Our dogs act fearful of two dogs on one side of our house but not the two on the other side. They bark at both sides bUT I can see that they fear the ones on one side. I have also seen them afraid of a person we passed walking in the park. They both took the long way around this person to avoid him. I trust my dogs instincts.
