Thank you for the comments. I think if he has the real treatment (which I had read on Heartworm Society's website), I would probably get him. I'll definitely check out insurance before I commit.
As far as Jack, he is microchipped. I reported him and they sent out alerts. I put out notices on FB for lost dog pages and local shelters. A good thing about the Home Again program, when I called my groomer to tell her to be on the lookout for Jack, she told me she had already received an alert by the HomeAgain program that he was missing. This made me feel like, yea - they really do what they say they are going to do, plus did not realize the alerts extend to groomers.
What is really sad about this, is that he is old (12), neutered. So him being a prime "sellable" dog is low. I keep hoping they will bring him back, but if they steal so many, they may not remember where he came from, especially now a month later. |
