My newest addition, Bambi, happened to come home with some very dry skin. I was hoping it was because the breeder used a strong shampoo or maybe just bathed to often, but she scratches her belly constantly. She actually has scabs right above her girly parts where she has been scratching. I haven't seen mites or anything, and I have been putting some lotion on her belly, and am now considering putting a bandaid or something over the scabs.
Has anyone had this issue? Any suggestions?
It could be her diet as well, of course, she is currently eating Royal Canin, which both the pups seem to love. She also eats cottage cheese occasionally.
