Sanity has nothing to do with it ....love , patience , and training does.
I got my pets to love and nurture and have a bonding relationship. I am the alpha in this family and they know it. I could chose to put them someplace else at night but it was I who choose who goes where.
And as far bedtime intimacy with significant other.....there's the door.
