I put the crate that Gina sleeps in in the back seat of the truck secured by 2 seat belts, she has traveled from SE GA to VA several times this way. Her food and water are attached to the inside of the crate, they are small metal bird bowls that attach to the crate. Because of my disabilities, I have to stop and stretch and walk, which I use to walk her and let her go potty. Gina is an excellent traveler, and we haven't had any issues, even traveling through Columbia and Charlotte during rush hour traffic, having to have slam on the brakes a few times she never hit the walls of her crate, her Boots and Barkley small bed and 2 blankets are inside the crate with her. Good luck on your trip, I hope your puppy does fine.
Cheers Quad & Gina
