I have only had all females, purchased at 8 weeks old, all have now passed. Years back my brother had a male Shih Tzu. The pup was a couple of years old and was diagnosed with testicular tumor and needed to be neutered. I now have a little adopted boy that was neutered when I adopted him. Learning from my brothers experience and learning from my own personal experience why spaying females at early age is so important for a healthier life. Neutering your boy is the healthiest thing you can do for him. Spay and neuter if not planning on breeding them is my advise I give to all ppl. If I were to purchase a male puppy I would have him neutered for one reason only, and that is for his health, NOT for lessening the chances of marking. We are all concerned, worried and scared when our babies have to under go these procedures, take comfort in knowing he will have a healthier longer life.
