A dog car seat in back is best and safer for your pup. I just went 2600 miles from ohio to colorado and back. Put a king size pillow in my lap and both dogs slept on it. U hauls dont have back seats .My boo woud throw up and shake but not on this trip. Made sure they walked frequently, that helped to. Had no problem with boo. I realize its a no no but had to do what we could. Hubbys gonna build me some sturdy beds that will be made of wood not card board.
Dont feed till you stop for the night they might throw up. Mine wouldnt eat till then. Unless it was minimal.
