I understand and fully agree that of course not all purebreds have issues and mutts are certainly never a sure thing. My dog's seizures might be very well due to an adverse reaction to a vaccine when he was little.

My personal opinion is that I most likely will get another mix someday but as I said in my last post, who knows - ? Yorkies own my heart but when Enzo started getting sick I was devastated - I still cry about it so you have to respect that I certainly, personally, have the right to be a little concerned about getting another purebred or maybe even more so finding a breeder. I have spent thousands of dollars treating Enzo for the last almost 7 yrs. We drive two hours to our beloved Vet who saved him. Every month we take him for some kind of treatment - happily. I have dedicated a great part of the last seven years seeking vet after vet - ones who think outside the box and are interested in trying new methods of holistic treatment as the conventional vets I saw first were disinterested and just wanted to try quick fixes that could further damage his liver.

Has it been a relief that my two year old Morkie (rescued from a puppy mill - talk about poor breeding practice - sad) luckily hasn't exhibited any health issues yet? Absolutely - is there a guarantee he won't? Of course not - I always say that I was meant to have Enzo because I will never stop trying to cure him and he has provided such an education - home cooking, vaccine avoidance, prevention through chiropractic treatments, holistic herbs, laser treatment, etc. Enzo is all Yorkie - I love his personality and the most loyal friend you could ever ask for.

I am sure there are wonderful breeders out there and I know there are tons of purebred Yorkies living long healthy lives. I fully expect Enzo to be with me as long as possible and will stop at nothing to make it happen.
