I feed my 18lb active Jackson 1/2 cup per day total. So 1/4 in AM, 1/4 in PM. But he also gets some wet food mixed in as well as some treats. He usually gets a Dentastix every night, or a few times a week some kind of chew (bully stick, purina chewz, etc) plus he gets treats. So I try to account for any extra calories. He's kept in pretty good shape but admittely, this winter we've been pretty lazy thus far and I think he's looking a tad heavier (to me), he could probably lose 1/2lb honestly. This is how I usually keep him, and that's eating ^ that amount up there. Every dog is different though and has a different metabolism. Personally I think 3/4 cup may be too much, if he's not all that active and vet says he could lose a few.
