I'm delighted at the one I got for traveling. It's designed as airline approved (though sometimes it can be a squeeze to get it to fit under the seat), but it has a handle and wheels for wheeling through the airport. In the car, it doubles as a carseat. Walking, it triples as a backpack carrier.

It's lasted so long because it's sturdy.

Not sure if this is the same brand but it looks like this:
