I'm so sorry for your tragic loss. I can't even imagine going through something like that. I never let Calleigh out, unless she is on a leash. It's always a good idea to be with them at all times outdoors. These little ones are food for birds of prey. We have had hawks flying around our yard. If that isn't a good reason to keep your puppy close to you, nothing is. Good luck with your new puppy!
