Don't worry, you did not scare anyone away. I think Lynzy was just inserting a little humor.
I wouldn't worry. Spaying, maturing, and a little time should help. Keep correcting your boy and redirecting to acceptable play when you can supervise.
My Teddy was 8 months when we brought him home and we had to keep the boys separated when we couldn't supervise. This lasted about 3 months. With maturity, they aren't swinging from the chandeliers, wrestling, when they are alone.
