I've had other yorkies - so I thought this time we finally got a calm one. NOT! The longer he's here, the more we see that crazy yorkie personality coming through. He's turning into a real yorkie terror - which makes me happy. He also came with a lot of baggage, likes women and kids and is unsure around men. He was also un-neutered and marked like a faucet. Neutering, constant supervision and a belly band helped, and we've got the marking about 90% under control now. I say 90% only because I still don't trust him completely, but he hasn't used the belly band in over a week and I haven't caught him trying to mark and haven't found any evidence. He still marks like a crazy man outside though and I think every square inch of our backyard has been claimed by him. It is so fun to watch them blossom into the silly little dogs they were meant to be!

I love watching their personalities comes out. Dutch is my second yorkie and I've only had her for 6 months but boy is she quite the terrier. Like yours, she went from sweet and shy to a terror. Like you, I love it too. To me, it means, they are healthy and happy. I'm finding new ways redirect her to postive energy. She's not actually really bad, she's just a busybody.
