I am sorry I did not update back on this. Beau is just fine, thank you for your concern.

I guess this was not an emergency and I should not have posted in this section.

I did not take him to the vet. He had apparently cut his throat a little on food or something. I really wanted some thoughts or ideas, I forgot all you guys do is recommend to go to the vet.

I held him still until the bleeding stopped and made sure he did not eat any dry food for a couple of day to give it time to heal, he has not had the problem since then. I know a little blood mixed in fluids looks like a lot and can be scary, but that is not cause to run to the vet. Terrify him and have him poked and prodded for nothing.

I am 55 and have always had dogs. I have 6 yorkies and a maltese, they are 5, 7, 9 and 10 years old. I know when I need to take my dog to a vet, and always do--immediately. I would not stop to write a message. I could understand that if someone has a new pup or is a new pet owner, I am sorry, I should not have posted.
