My vet said he's required by law to give pain meds.
Anyway Lola was very drugged the first night, she ate some chicken and drank some water, I had to limit her on both. Other than that she basically just slept, we slept on the floor that night. The next day we slept in my bed, she was much less drugged and was ok doing her snoozer scalloped steps.
I didn't have to do much to restrict her, she stood on her hind legs once, realized it hurt, and didn't try again and she only wore her blow up cone when I couldn't watch her.
She would lay half on her side and half on her belly, her back legs together and to the side, for a few months while she was healing. She was also picky about how she was carrier for a few months, I used to carry her with her back legs between my elbow and body and she wanted her outer back leg on my arm. |
