Pain med not only takes the edge off the pain, it also sedates them some, so that the ones that want to run all over the house and yard, calm down a tad and just relax for a day or two, for things to start to heal. Be sure they get the pain meds as ordered! They may have to be adjusted from the initial dosage....watch your babies and make that judgement...contact the vet and ask if you can give more/give less/give more frequently/give less frequently....
