Through the years, when any of my female Yorkies were spayed, they were given pain medication. I was told little dogs have a harder time coping with the surgery, but I'm certain it's painful to all dogs, large or small. They were given pain medication for three days. Not all vets prescribe medication, but if there is any way you can get some for them, it would probably help a lot. I've found that my babies were always much more needy while on pain medication, probably because it alters their brain while on it, but I feel it helps them to heal quicker and is far more humane. If they are on medication, that may be making Princess more tired.

Each day gets better, though. I never had any of my little ones not lay down. I'm sure it's painful for Princess. I hope tomorrow is much brighter for all of you.
