These precautions are something everyone should know. Be also mindful if your tire is flat in a parking lot and someone comes up to offer help. It is easy for someone to put a nail in and being a woman most likely won't attempt to change it. Better to go back to the store and call from inside for AAA or someone you know to come help you.
