Bogey too has had anal gland issues. Did you vet mention anything about a food change or adding fiber to his diet? If you can find Witch Hazel without the alcohol that really helped with the inflammation. It was hard to find since most are not the pure Witch Hazel and have the alcohol which would burn the inflamed area. Also, my vet recommended the glands be expressed every 2 weeks in the office until he was totally healed. I learned to do it myself and after about 6-7 weeks with the food change and added fiber he was back to normal thankfully.
