[QUOTE=Larry92;4520760]He had been to training classes since we got him but the trainer cannot seem to work out why he is so unresponsive so a vet visit was made and the vet said that he is in perfect health.
It so difficult because his behaviour from when we got him has improved so much ( I cant even explain how bad things were when he arrived) but everything we do on vet advice and trainer do not seem to work. His biting and unresponsiveness is getting worse and I don't want him to cause some one serious harm
This stood out to me and I'm wondering if Jake was shutting down.
Shutting down is the response when dogs are overwhelmed by too much stimuli.... when they can't run away-escape, make it go away-snapping/barking etc... they feel helpless, beyond stressed and scared. They will freeze become unresponsive, sit or lie down, lowering their head and body looking defeated, divert their eyes, lick their lips, drool etc.. If this was the case, the trainers should have recognized this was too much for Jake and asked you to remove him from this situation.
