No dog is ever to old to learn . . like the saying you cant teach and old dog new tricks. Not So !

This pup just needs someone or anyone to invest in this dog in order to get them trained properly. I really think that the dog could benefit from "Umbilical Cord Training" otherwise known as "Leash Training" or Tethering. Its where you keep the dog on a leash and harness (frontal hook for leash is best) and use lots and lots of praise and the occasional small treats to teach the dog the basic commands and to teach them their boundaries with in the home.

Believe me it works, I used this same method to train all 4 of my pups and I swear by it. I would suggest that if you use this method of training that with your fb's dog you be very patient and start off slow do to what I would consider fear by the behavior you have described. Just use a nice stern voice but not too harsh just enough so that he gets that you are asking him to do something/command.
