I totally agree that you pup should be diagnosed before you do anything else. Pain meds will only band aid the problem and not fix it. Besides you don't want your baby to be on pain meds the rest of it's life. My pup starting showing signs of Perths disease at the age of 8-9 months and at 11 months had surgery on her left hip. Not saying that your pup has the same disease but you will never know unless you have it checked out. A simple x-ray by your vet will tell what you need to know and then a proper decision can be made after that. Here I can have my dogs x-rayed for about $180.00 through my reg. vet. A small price to pay for diagnosis. Surgery on the other hand can get expensive but again for your pups sake (if you have to go there) worth every penny to get you pup out of pain. Your pup is 6 now and something has been going on for a long time. Dogs are good at hiding pain so I would get serious about doing something and not letting this go on any longer.
