I don't know about scaring my little guy, but the land line phone ring, he wants to kill the phone, I have it sitting on my 1/2 wall,he jumps on the back of the sofa and attacks it, knocking it to the floor. All the while barking and growling at it, scared!!!!!! silly little critter that he is lol
