My husband and I work all day but my retired in-laws live next door, so they come over around lunch to let Reggie out to play and poop and play and pee.
The next issue is at night. We have a baby playpen where he stays during the day and he seems content in there. I had him sleep there the first few days and he would cry in the middle of the night to get up once. Usually he would then pee, poop and play and then go back to sleep. I would get up with him and worry about him waking my husband. My husband told me to let him sleep with us which worked out ok for a few days. Then last night Reggie woke up, apparently tried to wake me and couldn't and he peed in the bed. I got up with Reggie, cleaned up the bed, then tried to put him back to sleep in his bed with us, but he wanted to play. I wanted to sleep and was getting very annoyed with him. I put him in his playpen, but he barked and whined and was keeping my husband awake, so I took him out. I know this was the wrong thing to do but I didn't want to keep my husband awake.
I think I need to go back to putting him in his playpen to sleep at night rather than letting him in bed with us. It's just so many things to learn for us and for my puppy and I think we're all a little overwhelmed. We've only had him for 3 weeks and he's doing really well overall.
I love the little guy so much.
