It stands for protein losing enteropathy. It is something that Yorkies are 10 times more predisposed to. It is quite complicated but what happens is that their bodies don't absorb protein and it leaks into their body. Her abdomen is HUGE. It also causes vomiting and diarrhea.
Thankfully though she is doing a little better right now. There is no cure but it can be managed through medication. Right now she is on about 10 of them!! |
