Got my own answer to the dosage question today. We realized Casey was past due on her parvo shot so we went in today to get her shots updated.
I asked the vet about the proper dosage for Glucosamine and Chondritin for our yorkie. She said
125mg/day and to allow approx. one month to see any results. She is a strong believer in giving Glucosamine and Chondroitin to dogs.
BTW- we have been using a pill splitter to cut the pills- thank you.

Per the instructions on the bottle it says that we should give 1/2 tablet per 40lbs of body weight. That means we have to cut each tablet into 1/4. That would equal 125mg of Glucosamine and 100mg of Chondroitin in each yorkie sized dosage.
Has anyone had a vet tell them how many mg a yorkie should have each day?
It would be alot easier to cut the pill in half then 1/4. For now we are following the dosage recommended on the bottle. |
