I'm really glad you came here to YT to get some feedback. You made a really wise choice by waiting, sometimes it can be so hard to be patient. Much of the advice you will get here on YT is really good. People here really KNOW yorkies and are happy to give you sound solid advice.
Personally, I would start at the YTCA website and start from there.
I have a boy and a girl, and the best way I can describe the difference is my girl loves me and my boy is in love with me. My boy can't get enough attention he will be on my lap before I finish calling his name. My girl is more independent and much more bossy. If she is hungry, I stop everything and get the food ready because she will pester me until I feed her. They are both great you can't go wrong, and every dog has their own personality.
