Oh, Lord, that picture just broke my heart - again. You can't help but love and be protective of these little Yorkies; but they are SO hard to keep safe the way they think and live their lives. You can only train them daily on using the doggie steps and make that muscle memory to go down the steps the main thought they have most days, knowing that any day they might just react and jump anyway but even my Tibbe got well-trained to use his steps except for those 2 or 3 times a year he bails off the couch or chair and my heart leaps into my throat. But that all that dedicated, daily training we did saves him all those other direct jumps!
I will be praying that these next 6 weeks go fast and as easily as possible for sweet little Shelby and you all. After that, maybe, maybe it will get a little easier, at least I hope so.
