I agree every dog is different, I've had a few that could last 9 hours during the day but had to get up at night.
My little Spike has been sleeping 9 + hours without messing his kennel and doesn't have to wait more than 5 hours at a time during the day where he is in "lock down," while we're at work.

I'm a little blessed he was already half trained when I got him at 14 weeks, so it hasn't been too hard to watch the patterns, and he's starting to signal by going to the top of the steps and looking at me. Good Boy!
