I'm not a breeder, just a pet lover so I've always spayed/neutered my pets. I think you'll find that having your baby neutered will make for a healthier pet and help you to avoid some common behaviour problems.

I have had 2 dogs with ascended testicles, and they both went through the surgery without a hitch. It was a little more invasive and cost a bit more, but to be honest with you, in both cases it barely slowed them down.

I'm not sure where you are in Jersey, but if you want to PM me I can tell you how to contact my vet. They're a big group and very good.

Edited to add: You might want to send a PM to teri88. She lives in NJ, too, and also recently went through something similar and sued successfully. Maybe she could tell you more the laws in our state. Again, good luck.
