So do you watch your puppy like a hawk when it's out and about? I've been taking my pup out very single hour for the past two weeks. When I'm not watching him, he's in the crate. The most I'm gone is 4 hours during the day, including work days. Yesterday I decided to push his time and took him out after 90 mins and he made it. Then today I decided to try 2 hours and he made it that long too. Today I was in the kitchen cleaning I saw him sneak behind the trash can and get in his poop position. I said no! And scooped him up and took him out side (unfortunately he has diarrhea and must've really had to go) The point is, I always have my eyes on him when he is outside the crate. I was putting him in the kitchen in a pen, but he also started tearing up the pads, then I tried washable and he would pee in a different part of the kitchen. so I had to resort to crate training. Maybe try washable pads if you decide to pee pad train the pup. Either way, you'll have to watch your puppy and correct it and take it to the right spot with whatever method you choose.
