Do you know what kind of worms? If it is small short white things that look like a grain of rice either on their poop or on his bed (dried), it could be tape worms, which they get from eating a flea.
You said he was infested with fleas, and I think I warned about that earlier. The dewormer does not get rid of those, you need to get the pill from a vet (don't use over the counter meds). It's cheap and easy, so call the vet and tell them what you are seeing and he may give you the pill without even bringing him in. At least my vet does.
