I also think I might go see a specialist preferable at a teaching hospital, to see if truly there are no options available to you and your boy.

There might be some alternative treatments available to you and your boy. Acupuncture to help with pain, chiropractic, and maybe some swimming therapies are all things I would look into and ask my specialist about.
My vet did forward Wilbur's x rays to a canine neurologist in Cleveland, and asked his opinion. He agreed with the vet and said he could not help Wilbur.

This was suspected from about 4 mo. on, and our regular vet said it was how he stands, and that we were seeing things that were not there. I am DONE at that office, & we went there for 32 years with our pets !
