Perhaps because people's view on what is the right thing to do varies so much; i.e. Free feed / schedule feed, crate / no crate, age to bring home, etc.
I look at raising a puppy, just like raising children. There are a lot of views and opinions out there. If there were one right way to do it, every puppy/child would turn out appropriately. But what you find appropriate and acceptable, I might not and vice versa. How do you determine what is the "right" way?
