I think before that he didn't know/couldn't see what the heck was going on.... He calmed right down after 10 minutes or so - we pointed at them and went "Oooooh + Aaaah" and clapped happily ( what a pair of idiots we must have looked....!!!) but for us it really worked.

Now he actually does his meerkat impression, just to see out of the window....I really wish you luck!
I have not tried a thunder shirt because she is normally not scared of anything. I am going to try taking her out wrapped in a blanket as you said and hope that works. Thanks! I don't care if our neighbors think we are crazy if we Ooooh and Aaaah they already know how much I love Sophie and will do anything to keep her a happy little girl.
