Another possibility to consider for hacking/coughing/retching is acid reflux. There has been more talk of this on YT relatively recently. An antacid might be required in those cases.
One other thought: my Teddy often suffers dry mouth when he sleeps. Sometimes he will sound like he is hacking up a furball when he wakes. I often wet his gums or make him drink from my hand late at night and early in the morning. This helps him. |
Thanks for your responses. I think it sounds like hacking up a furball. I am going to try giving him a light meal at bedtime and see if it helps him.
It could be dry mouth or acid reflux too. Thanks for the ideas.
