There is a YT poll about meals per day and I was surprised by the number of people who said their dogs eat once a day. If it works for Lexi and she isn't having any problems, go with it.
Does she eat snacks? You can start a routine of performing tricks for a piece of kibble if you are concerned about her eating a little something earlier in the day. Working for the reward and being handed the food always stimulates my boys.
