I would be devastated, too. I believe the OP said the Yorkie was being supervised, and another person was present as well...but when someone wants what you have...
Also, a member here was walking her Yorkie on a leash when a man scooped her up and put her under his coat. The Yorkie was wearing a Buddy Belt, so the owner was able to pull her baby away, and some people came to her aid as well.
There are numerous reports of people jumping fences to snatch other people's dogs. I had a neighbor that had that happen...they had an 8' stockade fence.
I am very happy they got this baby back.
