So we did some research and found Dr. Tobias at UT and made an appointment to take her in for surgery a few weeks later. When we got to Tennessee Dr. Tobias did an ultrasound and another test and she said that our Penny doesn't have a shunt but she probably has MVD and they wanted to do a biopsy to be sure. Well yesterday they called and said that Penny's liver is perfectly healthy and that they weren't really sure what was going on, so I was wondering has anyone had a high bile acid test but with a perfectly healthy liver?
We basically went through the same thing when Pfeiffer was a pup...her liver levels were a little off so we did all the testing, shunt was ruled out and MVD was suspected. But during the spay they also did the biopsy and her liver was totally fine....so no MVD. Been there!
