 Older Yorkie yelping
My 13 year old yorkie, Bentley, has started yelping a lot when he is startled. He has always been timid and shakes, etc. when he is around the younger grandchildren. Since the cold weather has set in, he has started yelping when he is resting and we come up on him or touch him, even without the grandchildren. I am worried he is in pain. We know he has luxating patellas, Stage 4, but I am also worried that he is experiencing arthritis pain. If it continues or gets worse I plan on taking him to the vet, but I know I am not putting him through surgery at his age. I even worry about asking for pain medication. What should I do?
