Default Hernia waiting until neuter

Hey!
So my little 3 month Milo has an umbilical hernia. We knew about it when we bought him but I wasn't too worried. It was partially reducable and about the size of a dime. We've had him a month now. He is showing no signs of discomfort - eating properly, not straining to poop, no vomit or diaherria. The vet saw it last week though and said it was quite large for his size (4 lbs). She suggested doing an early neuter. Anyhow... Every time I look now I feel like it's bigger, though it could be just me. It measures 2cm by 1.8cm continuously and it is no longer reducible.

I guess I'm just wondering what your guys experiences are with these? The vet wants to wait another month and a half to two months for the surgery. Is there anything I should watch for? If it does grow will it be hair line growths or bigger, more obvious growth?
