Let me preface this by saying with the holidays and all things have been crazy around here! We've gone out of town every weekend (one day a weekend) and when we are at home there has been a lot of running around so our schedules have been completely turned upside down.
Cali has been fine, but she's been doing this weird thing and I'm wondering if it's anxiety related? The first time she did it was a couple of weeks ago. All of a sudden she started frantically sniffing and pacing in the same area. It was like she was looking for something but there was nothing there. I did have a candle burning, which is a normal around here, but I figured maybe she was just smelling it more than usual that day.
However, now the behavior has picked up more. She'll loudly sniff with her nose in the air while whining and being extremely restless. She'll lay down, get back up, sniff and whine, lay down, up, pace, sniff and whine, etc. She has mostly done it when we've gotten home from running errands. However, she is doing it now, and the reason why I'm wondering if it's anxiety is that my husband is not here today when usually he is. She is always a little off when one of us is missing, so I figured that was what had her upset this morning.
I guess I'm just wondering if anyone here thinks I'm on the right track or if it sounds like something else? After this weekend life should calm down considerably so I am hoping she will start to feel better if that's what the issue is.
