Welcome to YT! Regardless your puppy is adorable and I say enjoy him to the fullest. I definitely say yes to pet insurance!! I would also suggest micro chipping your little bundle of joy and then of course have him neutered. My little girl came from a broker and after doing research I found the breeders name on a puppy mill list that was circulating on this site. I felt really bad and stupid (still do) but I was also (and still am) in love with my little girl. I really wish I had known about this site before I purchased her but after you see them and fall in love then it's too late!! Now I always suggest to anyone looking for a Yorkie to please do research first. My papers are ACA as well and are worthless. I tried to get more info on her parents but came to a dead end. The wellness checkup my girl had told me she was healthy too but she had LCPD surgery at 1 yr. and the broker could care less. You may not experience any illnesses with your pup but it's better to be prepared just in case. I would also suggest Care Credit which is a credit card that can be used for vetting. I was approved for one at my vets office in less than 5 minutes. A puppy savings plan too if you can. I really hope that you and your pup are one of the lucky ones and that your pup is strong and healthy for the rest of his life. You've come to the right place for Q & A's and to also show off your new little bundle of joy. So next time someone says something to you tell them " Duh! Parti Yorkie-Look em up" and if you want one do your research and find a really good breeder first! Congrats on your new baby!!
